I had the pleasure and privilege of taking a 7 day cruise from New York City to the Bahamas.   On the final evening, the Cruise Director (CD) presented a hilarious top ten dumb questions first-time passengers ask him.  He wisely pointed out that did not include any of us since we now had one week or more under our belts and were officially veteran cruisers!  These are seven of them that I recalled.  Enjoy:

1. Does the elevator go to the front of the ship?   Hey, I can see why that gets asked.  These are long ships!

2. Does the water go all the way around the island?  Some people have not been off the farm in a while…

3. Do these stairs go up or down?  Hmmm, they seem to work both ways…

4. Does the ship generate its own electricity?   The CD commented, “No, we just pull a long extension cord behind us!”

5. Do we have to leave the boat for the excursions?  yikes…

6. Does the waiter staff live on board the ship?  The CD commented, “No, we fly them on and off the ship everyday by helicopter!”

7. Is the water in the toilet bowl fresh water or salt water?    “I don’t know,” he said. “I’ve never dipped in and tasted it.”

People are funny if you see the funny side of people.  That’s easier to do when you’re at peace with their quirks (and your own!)  I hope you have the pleasure of taking a cruise soon. You travel and they do the driving.  Just be aware that the average passenger puts on one pound a day!
